Deceptive, rude, scam artists

Avoid this company at all costs, unless you want to be seriously ripped off!!! They start off by sending you a low "binding estimate" via their website, so I decided I wanted to make sure that that estimate was correct so I called Olympus Moving and spoke to David Kline. He arranged to have an estimate specialist come to my home and look at what I own to give me a more precise estimate. So the guy came out, and I showed him everything that was mine that I planned to take (very detailed item by item) and he came up with another "binding estimate" that was just a little higher than the previous one I got online. This estimate was suppose to be ALL INCLUSIVE (which he explained as meaning that I would not be paying any more because it included boxes, packing materials for my bed, pictures, etc..). This seemed too good to be true, so after the estimate specialist left, I called the Olympus Moving office and asked David Kline about it. He confirmed that the price was indeed, all inclusive and I would not be paying more for my bed and any other items I was shipping.

Fast forward a couple weeks to moving day. First of all they show up an hour earlier than the 3 hour window they gave me (this is super super early in the morning). Strike one! Anyways they start packing up my stuff into the truck. And after a while the foreman pulls me aside and says, you have a lot more stuff than was listed in your estimate. The truth is, I got rid of a bunch of stuff I decided I didn't need... Hoping I could maybe pay a little less than the estimate. Also, the law states you have to inform a customer prior to loading the truck if it is going to cost more. He waited till more than half of my stuff was loaded. Wouldn't any honest and well trained mover be able to see all my boxes and identify the amount of space it will take? Not if you're whole operation is a scam from the start. So what was suppose to be a $1100 move, they are now telling me I will have to pay over $1900 for.

Almost double! That's a huge difference, and ANY good moving company would never have that big of a difference between the actual cost and the estimate. So I complained and like any good scam, they pretend to be all apologetic and wanting to see what they can do. Then had a guy named Allen call me, who was supposedly the manager, but who didn't have his own email address, and sounded exactly like the David Kline guy.

This guy says the same thing that the foreman said, and denied any wrong doing by the estimate specialist. He then deducted 40% off the amount that I still owed them - meaning in the end I was still about $600 more than the original estimate. But I took the deal because when they have your stuff, you do whatever you can to make the best of the situation.

So when I received my stuff at its final destination a couple weeks later (mind you, a week after it was suppose to arrive) I had a money order for the remaining balance owed. But then the foreman tells me I owe another $150 since they can't pull the truck directly in front of my door. I should have told they to screw themselves and just leave my stuff in the parking lot rather than pay them... But we negotiated it down to $80.

Btw, considering how they were nearly a week late with my stuff... They would have still charged me $600 per day, if I wasn't available to be home to get the delivery on the exact day they arrived. Despite it being THEIR fault!

The whole experience has sucked me dry financially and emotionally.

They actually lost a painting I made and loved dearly. I hope nobody ever has to go through what I went through. It was horrible and these guys at Olympus Moving are horrible!!!

Again... Never ever ever use olympus moving!!! Please, for your own good.
