Pool opening/closing ripoff

In June I used Pools & Spas Owned by Tom Peterson to open my pool. He told me it would cost $150 to open if I used my own chemicals & $180 if he supplied the chemicals. If we signed a contract to open & close it would only be $300 & the chems would be free. We signed the contract for the $300. To open & close.

Anyway, he came over & stated the opening process. During the process he found that the pool pump wasn't working & said it would be around $300. - $400. To replace. I told him to forget about opening, but the man kept putting chems in because it was very green.

When he was done he wanted $375. ($300 for the open & close contract & an extra $75. For the extra chems he put in at the opening. We had a huge argument & I gave him a check for $180. (the opening cost chems) After giving him the check for the $180, he has been bothering me for another $75., saying I still owe him for the extra chems still.

I wound up filling a police report because of this guys business practices & harasment. The other thing that bothers me is he wanted to be payed in cash only. Good thing I gave him a check, because I dought I would have seen him again. I think he also wanted cash only because his business is illegal.
