Great Expectations
Ripoff WOMAN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF, I probably will end up having to pay a lot of money for services not received or wanted

Shops, Products, Services

I recently learned of this website from my attorney. I wish I had known about it before going to Great Expectations in Virginia Beach, VA. After reading many of the reports already filed at this website, I find I experienced many of the same experiences.

1. I kept receiving inviting ads in the mail that I never requested and still do.

2. During the first and only visit, I was told how they had an overabundance of single men as compared to the number of single woman.

3. I was given a 2-hour sales pitch where I continually told her I could not pay their enormous fees.

4. Jill E. Told me how she had met her current boyfriend through Great Expectations even though it was against the rules and she told me not to tell anyone that she told me that.

5. I was probed about my financial situation.

6. I was continually pressured into signing a contract, when I repeatedly told her I needed time to think about it and how they reminded me of someone trying to sell a timeshare by the pressure they were applying.
I desperately wanted to get out of there so I signed the contract, thinking I had 3 days to cancel.

Within an hour and a half of leaving their office, I called wanting to cancel the contract. I was told I had to talk to Jill and she had left for the day. I tried many times by phone and e-mail to reach Jill. Each phone call I got the same response - Jill is busy with a customer.

Finally Jill called me back. She told me the contract had been mailed to the main office in Florida and I could not get out of the contract.

I hired an attorney and he wrote a letter to the main office in Florida. He received a call from a Mitchell Brant after a few weeks. When my attorney asked Mr. Brant about a certain clause in the contract Mr. Brant told my attorney that he did not have a copy of the contract in front of him but he would try to find a copy and call him back.

My attorney has called Mr. Brant several times since then and got his answering service. My attorney has left messages, but to date my attorney has not received another call from Mr. Brant.

I am presently disputing this with my credit card company. I probably will end up having to pay a lot of money for services not received or wanted. Thank goodness I did not have pictures or a vido taken because after reading these articles on this website, one has to wonder what they do with these personal things about you. I hope if enough people complain about Great Expectations, something will eventually be done to stop them from taking advantage of people.
