I rented a small unit a couple yeas ago and always paid my bill in line on time. Glad I didn't sign up for auto pay!

I gave them move out notice via the web site as instructed. I moved my stuff out a week earlier than anticipated but no matter.

Three weeks later I get a call that my bill is past due. What? I gave notice and moved my stuff out already. I was told that no I did not give notice. I told her when I gave my notice. She said that she had no record of that.

I was told that they would put another lock on the unit and cancel my gate code. I let her know that I had already moved my stuff out and the date I did it. Nope said she, her records don't show that I had accessed the property since I had initially stored it.

UH? I told the woman that she was welcome to use the key they had to my lock to open it and look. WE DONT HAVE YOUR KEY! We don"t keep copies of your key! Then why was I required to provide one when I rented it? I DON"T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! WE ARE GONNA PUT A LOCK ON THE UNIT AND YOU CANT GET YOUR ITEMS UNTIL YOU PAY!

But i moved it already. No you didn't our records don't have you ever being on the property.

I am still getting notices that I am past due and they have indeed put another lock on the door and denied my gate code access. I can't help that they have poor record keeping and the property manager is incompetent. I know she is trying to CHA. Not sure why she was yelling at me and trying to convince me that I had not moved my stuff. Hell, I even offered to give her a copy of my truck rental. No you did not get anything out of your unit! Our records prove it! Was her response. But I did get my things I again explained.

So her records are a bit off and so was her behavior. I finally just hung up the phone. Lady was wacko.

Well, I guess they will auction off dead space. I feel sorry for the person that bids on the locker.
