Summit Energy claims I signed in August with them, I know that I signed the same day I was heading out the door to my grandfathers funeral in November. I did not really pay attention to my bills as I do all of it online, Terasen Gas the company that I have gas through has a simple online bill for viewing but misses details such as Summit Energy being on the bill unless you look at the full bill not the simple version. Anyways I recently moved and had to differnt houses with Gas to them. One of them my bill was very cheap so I looked at the full bill to see the differnce between the two. I then noticed I had Summit Energy on my bill which I had totally forgotten about due to it being a very tramatic time in my life. Anyways I called them because they were charging me 9.59 dollars per GJ where Terasen Gas was charging me 5.56 dollars for the same GJ. They got mad that I was questioning there service.in the 2.5 years I have been on a fixed rate of the $9.59 per GJ Terasen Gas's Rates were never above $8.75 and that only happened once for a couple of months. Other than that they have always been below $6 per GJ. I asked about canceling or reducing my rates they said I could not reduce my rates unless I was with in the 90 Days of signing. I also would have a cancelation fee of $500 if I canceled anytime before 5 years were up.

This company has done nothing but cost me money. NEVER SIGN with Summit Energy!
Soon as my old house no longer was connected in my name Summit Energy started billing me on the new house. I can not get rid of them except for paying them money which they do not deserve. I would love a copy of my contract as I never kept it as they promised me my rates would be lower than the gas companies and I was far from thinking about the contract at the time.
My most recent bill cost me an extra $49 and change due to being signed on with Summit Energy, just think 6 to 8 months and I will have paid for my cancelation fee.

Do me a favour if they ever come to your door tell the employee to look up Summit Energy on this site and see the people they are scamming. Tell them to look for a new more respectable job instead of a company that lies and steals from its customers.
Where is our legal system to allow companies like this to make outragous contracts and fees?
I wish I knew then what I know now as this company over 5 years will cost me at least $3000 extra on my gas bill.
Slam the door on them!
