The following letter to Great American sums it up:
1. You showed up 3 hourslate and did not have enough packing material so ended up loading thingsloosely into a truck. You said they would pack/crate at their warehouse. Thiswas never done. Items arrived uncrated, unpackaged and damaged2. You extorted a gratuityfrom us even though you had not finished packing our belongings3. We were advised storagewould be 300/month. When we called to say we need storage you changed it andsaid it would be 1200 because we had more than we had said, yet you were theones who visited us and made the estimate based on the belongings YOU saw4. When it came time fordelivery to California, you said it would take 7 - 14 days. You never called toadvise of delays. I kept on having to call, and every time I encountered abelligerent employee who made it seem like we were at fault. 5. You arrived 10 dayslate. You said there would be 3 or more people to unload. There was 1! 6. You failed to providean inventory upon delivery, as required by law and so we were unable to verifythat all goods had arrived7. We said we would paywith a credit card. On arrival, you held our belongings hostage unless we paidcash, and they tried to rip us off by $300 saying we had underpaid when youpacked us up. That is extortion, as is the fact that you required cash beforewe were allowed to inspect the goods8. We had to call the policeto intervene. 9. There are major damagesand we believe there are items missing, but we have no way of checking as yousaid the driver lost the inventory "out of his truck window"
