Don't Believe Their Lies! Telemarketing job is a rip-off!

My experience was at a telemarketing location run by the same company in Petaluma, California. I was also told I was a top employee after generating some 500 leads and setting over 50 appointments. I was told when I was hired I would be paid $15 an hour plus a bonus of $25 per appointment attended by an affiliate. They also said any leads that were turned into appointments by the affiliate would be paid to me as a bonus for as long as I was with the company.
After my first months production which they said was way more than they expected, they called a meeting for me and the other telemarketer and told us the bonus would only be paid for meetings attended by the affiliate where the "decision maker" was present. We were also referred to as "guinea pigs" and told their marketing program was learning from the mistakes they were making with us! We never were offered a sales contract and now I saw why. When I complained about the situation and other problems with the dialing system, I was quickly terminated and told I would only be paid for appointments attended while I was with the company. For the appointments I set I was only paid for about 25% of them and the close to 500 follow-ups I set were kept by the company with no further compensation to me.
Stay clear of Charles J. Read. They are trying to expand their business by taking advantage of people trying to earn extra money during hard times. They are dishonest, disrespectful and have no regard for their employees.
