Complete Mobile Home Repair Service - MARK KEITZ
The still unusable bathroom

Shops, Products, Services

We called complete mobile home repair for an estimate to have our bathroom redone. This estimate was the highest out of four we received. The estimate was more professional looking than the other estimates we received and led us to believe that the work would be done right. The owner/operator of Complete Mobile Home Repair assured us that he would do the job right and we hired him.
According to the estimate to replace the tub with surround, replace the floor under the tub, replace the shower head, remove molding insulation and replace with new, and to replace bad walls the cost was 1,400. This estimate is 400 more than the other estimates.
After completion of the work we were left with the wrong size tub, and the old surround. The window in shower, the old surround and tub were not caulked and did not match up. He was so unprepared for this job that he had to use moldings from the inside of our bedroom closets to put on sections of walls that had been replaced.
The molded support beam under tub was not replaced or enforced. He said nothing about the support beam until he was informed that the tub was moving and not secure. He claimed that nothing could be done about the support beam. He had used caulking as spackling to repair the walls. He cut a second access panel to the shower and when asked about it he proceeded to say "put a picture over it to cover it".
During the duration of him working on our bathroom he said that he received a call from his wife stating that his father in-law is dying of cancer and he will be leaving for Florida as soon as this job is completed. He stated his wife was already on the plane. We paid him for the job, because we recently dealt with my mother passing from terminal cancer and we had compassion on him and his family.
We called him the next day about finishing up and fixing some problems we noticed with the work he did. He answered the phone and we said I know you are out of town due to your father in-law, he did not know what we were talking about. This is when we realized that he has done work for our neighbors and they know about the death of my mother. He preyed on our vulnerability to that subject.
We cannot use our bathroom today and he will not return our calls or the property manager's calls. He canceled his toll free business number within a week of trying to contact him. We have to hire another contractor and spend an additional 425 to fix the work he did so that our bathroom can be used.
