Dallas Party House - Rick Bagley - Scam Artist

In September my wife and I were planning our wedding which was to take place in November. We found a house for rent on Craigslist that listed the house as being owned by Rick Bagley. It had a website called www.DallasPartyHouse.com and the website was also owned by Rick Bagley. We met with this person and even visited the house to check if everything seemed to check out.

When we got to the house it was a big 5 bedroom house, two story and had a huge backyard, perfect for our wedding plans. We waited a few days and continued to look around before we made our decision. On Sept 14th of 2007 Rick Bagley called me and asked if we were ready to make the transaction. He charged us $800 and and additional $200 damage deposit.in total we paid Rick Bagley $1000 for the rental of the house for our wedding.

On November 12 just two weeks before our wedding we receive the following email from Rick Bagley.

It is with great sadness that I send you the following information. Last month my house was foreclosed on, and this month I was evicted. I tried everything possible to stave off the foreclosure and even to attempt to still have your reception after the eviction. There was nothing I could do to keep your event at the house. I have your address and fully intend to get you your $1000 back plus an extra $100 for the invitations that must be redone. I am deeply sorry for these circumstances and hope that you will be able to find another venue. The money may not come all at once but I will eventually get your money back to you. I do not have a forwarding address and my previous phone has been disconnected, so there is no way to reach me, but I will do everything possible to get your money back expeditiously. Again, my apologies.

I would like to take this time to correlate two other complaints to this same person who has an identifiable pattern in their scamming techniques.

Both of the above people were scammed by the same person, Rick Bagley. I filed a police report with the Dallas Police and they were unable to do anything about this scam artist.

Mr. Bagley did deposit and cash my check and he wrote the below information on the check if anyone wants to see what they can find out. This guy needs to be arrested and put behind bards. There's a chance he's going by an alias by now so hopefully disclosing this information will help track him down.
