Events and Adventures (Phoenix) is advertising on the many local radio stations trying to sucker more people inot this SCAM.
I drove to the E&A office on Camelback Rd. Near the Biltmore area. The Staff, was completely unprofessional, VERY HIGH PRESSURE, the actual "salesman" Jim Herrick, confessed he used to be a Condo Time Share Salesman (BIG RED FLAG). I told this person I was in the midst of going through some medical issues and that I would come back in two weeks, after getting the high pressure sales pitch. Once I told this guy I was not going to join at this time, he said, "well I can make you deal and save you $200.00 by signing today" and "we won't charge you credit card for two weeks, so go ahead and go to an event then you can decide if you want to join then." I foolishly, took the E&A staff's word and went to on a Friday evening, prior to a severe health condition prevented me from going to any more and I knew thisw was not a service I could use.
It was a Wednesday, when I MADE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE of my life by taking this guy's word that I could decide in 2 weeks if I wanted to continue the service. This salesman Jim Herrick continued to say that he was very new to the job and couldn't even fill out the contract without getting another E&A staff to come in and help fill it out. I was rushed so much during this process, that the contract was never initialed by myself on the line acknowledging the "real" cancelation policy. During this two weeks, my health conditions continued to deterriate and I was actually removed from work by (2) Doctors. Prior to the two weeks I called Events and Adventures (Phoenix) and told them I was not able to continue the service. Jim Herrick took (1) phone call from me and told me on the phone "I don't even know how to cancel a membership" (HUGE RED FLAG). So I then pulled out the contract, noting the section that was signed y myself, regarding the (72 hr.) cancelation policy and a $400.00 cancelation process fee. So I followed up by sending a certified letter to the Events and Adventures (Phoenix) office. I was charged $100.00 for the two weeks in July. I was going to accept the fact I lost $100.00 to go bowling at some dirty bowling alley. I also offered to pay the $400.00 cancelation fee $100.00 for the two weeks along with a written letter from one of my Doctors stating that I was not fit for attending any such events. I received a letter from the Events and Adventures Corporate office in Washington State, saying that it was too bad and about my medical condition and they would not settle for anything less than the full contract amount ($2000.00). I called the Washington State office, becasue at this point now Jim Herrick and local Events and Adventures staff would no longer take my phone calls.
Currently I am off work, have been now for nealry 6 months due to medical issues and the Events and Adventures company is now threatening to turn me over to a collection agency. I am not even currently living in the Phoenix area, due to medical conditions that I must rely upon family in another part of AZ to help take care fo me.
This company is a complete RIP-OFF I advise anyone who comes in contact with them to NEVER buy into this deceptive practice of local staff lying and not disclosing the real policies that they have in place.
The "salesman" who lied to me quit working at this company within several months of signing this membership.
