Club1 High pressure sales - Low quality product

I had signed up for some free dating services and somehow Club1 got my name. I went there thinking it was a mingle type of dating service only to find out it was online dating. I had just broken up with my boyfriend, was in a very vaunerable state, and they hyped their product for two hours telling me how they had quality people, not like the free sights. I was told by the center manager that if I found any bad response about Club1- I could terminate my membership. I checked Club 1 out on the BBB and web, no bad response.
I made a snap decision - which I know not to do - but they really played on my emotions. I had pictures and video taken Then realized it was Great Expectations! They had just changed their name to Club1- how sneeky!!! Went home ready to date... Nothing.
I had 4 people pick out my profile - two from out of town who never called, one who I met for lunch who was far from quality, the second showed up in something that looked like he was going spear fishing and complained of gout! If that was quality - I would hate to see the bottom of the food chain.
I picked out about 5 men, they never replied to my posts. I picked out about 5 more - same thing. I called the center to complain - they said they would contact the members - they must not know they have messages. Two declined. Still no response from the others. They do not have a variety of new men on a regular basis as promised - and I don't even think half the men on the site are real! They never reply to a posting!
Meanwhile I am dating regularly on two free sites - meeting real quality people. I have contacted Great Expectations by e-mail twice, phone twice, no reply. I was told by my credit card company today to call the billing number on my statement. When I told the worker how upset I was and that my credit card company was going to dispute charges she replied "Oh - you are going to get into a world of hurt that you just do not want to get into! We will charge you $25.00 for each dispute and..." before she could finish I said "Well, as soon as I get off the phone with you I am contacting my Attorney Generals Office and I think they will put a stop to that" which made her change her tune. I then contacted the Missouri Attorney Generals office today - they have 72 complaints against them! But evidently that is not enough to do anything about their shady practices - although four other states have charged them. They suggested I file a claim - said they have been able to help others with Great Expectations.
I just tried to log on and verify my story with some facts from the website - they have taken me offline! Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing... I guess they can't charge if they are not providing service - but with these people who knows!!!
Beware - do not get caught up in their bad business practices. If I do not get anywhere with the Att Gen - I am going to get a lawyer friend to try a class action lawsuit - there evidently are enough of us out there that we would probably win!!!
