John Gaston Sold us two puppies that had hereditary problems, then another that had bad papers, blamed us for the hereditary issues

We found a 4 month old English Bulldog puppy online and contacted the breeder - Indian Creek Kennel, Houston Missouri. We wanted to buy the puppy and I met one of the owners half way between our homes - an hour and a half away. He put the puppy in the grass but the puppy didn't walk, he just sat there and didn't move. I figured he was excited and nervous so I picked him up and put him in the car to drive home.
I got home and got him out of the car. As soon as I put him down and saw him walk we noticed he had a horrible limp and his leg was mis-shapen. I contacted the vet the next day and went and had x-rays taken. The vet stated it was a bone growth deformity that would require corrective surgery. This was a hereditary problem. I contacted the breeder and they stated that they had never noticed a limp before. We noticed it immediately, this was not a recent injury and would have been noticeable for weeks.
The breeder agreed to meet me again and exchange puppies with me. I picked out the puppy I wanted on-line and then I drove an hour and a half back to meet the breeder again.
We got this puppy home and noticed he also had an odd gait. It wasn't as bad as the previous puppy so we decided to wait and see. We had the puppy for two weeks and he came down with Demodectic Mange which is a hereditary immune system problem. It can take months to fix and during that time your dog looks horrible. I took the puppy back a week later for the vet to check up on the mange and they diagnosed ectropion of the eye. This is also a hereditary issue but is a very common bulldog problem. Ectropion does require eye surgery to correct.
I e-mailed the breeder on 10/26 and again on 10/27, finally received a reply on 10/28. I e-mailed the breeder again on 10/28 and again on 10/31 and didn't receive a reply until 11/1. I e-mailed the breeder a response immediately on 11/1 and 11/3 and finally got another reply on 11/4.
I told the breeder exactly what was going on with this puppy and they finally agreed to meet us and exchange puppies yet again. They did not let us choose a puppy, they told us which dog we were getting and did not ask if that was ok.
We drove another hour and a half to meet again and swapped puppies. It was very quick. They picked up the puppy and put in our car and we didn't really get a good look at it until they were gone. The dog they traded us for does not look like an English Bulldog. It has long legs, thin and a longer nose than the norm. It is a horrible representation of an English Bulldog.
Also, the paperwork that came with this puppy is not regular AKC registration. It is "Conditional" registration. I called AKC and asked what that meant and they said that somewhere in the past the dogs lineage is in question. I feel that this should have definatly been disclosed before they gave us this dog.
Also, I had looked at their puppy listings several times and this dog was listed for sale for $900.00 and we had paid $1200.00 for our puppy. So, we are out $1200.00 $200.00 for vet bills $100.00 for gas for a $900.00 dog that they couldn't get anybody else to buy.
I contacted the breeder again and told her I was highly displeased. She told me that they should have never taken either of the other puppies back because we had injured both of them.
According to her, we apparently dropped the first puppy and returned it with an injured shoulder. Our vet x-rays show abnormal bone growth, not a sprain or break from a recent injury.
Also, according to her we poked the 2nd puppies eye and blinded it. I told her that I had informed her almost 2 weeks prior that the dog had eye problems and I was waiting for her to respond. If I had altered the puppy in any way the puppy would have been considered mine and the health guarantee would be void.
When I asked her about the paper work on the latest puppy she said that they knew he was an English Bulldog because they had both of the parents. She never said anything about the "Conditional" Registration. If I were to ever use this dog as a stud all of his puppies would have "Conditional" Registration also, which would devalue the price. Although I wouldn't be able to use him as a stud because he does not look like an English Bulldog.
My vet will give a statement that all injuries of either of the puppies were congenital and could not have been inflicted by us. Our vet will also state that we are responsible and caring pet owners who love our pets tremendously.
The breeder told me that there was 6 puppies in the litter and only the 2 that we had had problems. If they thought we were intentionally injuring their puppies, why would they give us another? If they care for their dogs and thought we were hurting them, wouldn't they have refused to give us another?
We asked for a refund after the 2nd puppy had hereditary problems. They informed us that they don't give refunds under any circumstances.
To sum this up, we got two dogs from thie breeder with hereditary problems and then another one that has bad papers and is obviously a cheaper dog than the one we originally paid for.
This breeder is sneaky and dishonest, they raise dogs with several hereditary issues and then blame the buyer.
