False billing for a publication I didn't subscribe to

I received a phone call from a collection agency claiming I was past due for a subscription to a Safety Information periodical that I never signed up for. It was claimed I signed up on-line thru a pop-up on another website, that I do not visit.
They are threatening me with a black mark on my companies credit record if I don't not pay the $371 immediately. HuH!!???
They are claiming they sent multiple cancellation notices to my work address and I never cancelled within some 60 day time frame. If I got something from them, It more than likely went in the trash with all the other junk mail I receive since I was not expecting anything.
I will be investigating this further as this has all the makings of a scam. Beware!
