Poor service and unreasonable harrassment

In June of this year we visited Nicaragua, after three phone calls to Canada our service was suspended. (text on the phone read service is suspended), leaving us without a means of communicating with relatives or them being able to reach us in a foreign country. We are seniors and our son tried to reach us on several occasions during this three weeks, this was most stressful to him.

When we returned to Canada, we attempted to complain (very difficult to get anyone to take a complaint). Eventually we were told that it was Nicaragua that suspended our service not Rogers, which we found very difficult to believe. Consequently we requested cancellation of our wireless services. This was agreed to at a charge of $760.96, which was invoiced at the end of July. Payment of $300.00 was made August 2nd, then another payment of $100.00 was paid on Sept 11th.

Towards the end of September a phone call was received from the credit department of Rogers. I informed the woman that she would have to discuss the matter with my husband (he was not available at the time) upon which she became abusive and told me that I was "very uncooperative" and she was going to go ahead and put me into collection. Since then we have received three phone calls from at least two different collection agencies and a threatening letter from a lawyer. All this in a period of two weeks. Final payment on the account was made to Rogers $370.18 this was made on the 9th of October. Please note the time frames on these transactions.

I now have a collection on my credit report which I do not deserve.
