Piedmont Sercurity Systems Contracted us to install a Fire Alarm System for his customer then never paid us

Our Company was hired by Tom Caune owner of Piedmont Private Instigative Services. Also known as Piedmont Security Services. He is not a licensed Fire Alarm contractor so he hired us to install a new fire alarm system for his customer. We installed the system per the local codes and we had the system inspected by the local fire inspector. The system passed and the end user was happy with the system. The end user paid Mr. Caune for this work that we completed. We billed Piedmont Private Investigative Services. We did not hear from Mr. Caune until we threatened legal action. He claimed his customer had not paid him. I checked with the end user who said he had paid him for our work. We confronted Mr. Caune with this information. He requested that we accept a 25% payment with the rest to follow within 30 days. I agreed and we received the check for 25% of the job. We have tried on numerous times to contact him and he has returned one of our calls and left us a voice mail acknologing the debt and promising to pay us the remaining amount. We have not had any luck contacting him since. He is accrueing interest at a rate of 1.5% per month which has brought his grand total back up to the original price again. The 25% payment has covered the late fee's. We attempted to file a claim with the BBB. They apparently do not get involved with Business to Business collection problems. He has an A rating with the BBB. I bet if they took cases like our his rating may be a better reflection of how he does business. I would not recomend working for this person. He does not pay his bills. If there is a lawer out there that can assist us it would be appreciated. We have a signed quote for Mr. Caune and a copy of the voice mail left for us acknowledging that he owes us the money.

If you are looking for a security company to protect your house or property I would be very cautious using this person. He is not trustworthy.
