Moose Mountain Hot Tubs
Paid $9000 for a hot tub that does not exist

We put a deposit on a hot tub in June with the understanding that we would not need it till some time in 2009. We paid for the hot tub in full in June so they could build it for us.

In July we were told that they were waiting for the color to come in and that as soon as it came in they would build it for us. We went on holidays July 18th so we said we would wait till we came back from our holidays to have it delivered.

When we came back from holidays we got the pad ready and got in contact with Moose Mountain Hot Tubs. The girl could not give us any answers. My husband was in there everyday that following week. He finally got a hold of Darren Long (the owner) and he told my husband he would look into it and have the girls call us. We didn't get a call so my husband would stop in there again. He did not give the girls any info.

Trish (an employee) started looking into it for us and she said there was no tubs ready and there are no parts to make any tubs. He is also lying to her and telling her parts were ordered and they should of been in by Wednesday Sept 16th but have not yet showed up.

She is dealing with at least 30 customers that have been promised tubs for the last 5-6 months or longer and that Darren has lied to. Darren is hardly ever there and refused to talk to me on Saturday Sept 12th when Trish got a hold of him on his cell phone. She told him I was there and he refused to talk to me.

I am wanting this guy stopped and made to pay his customers back. He sold a tub to an unknowing couple when Trish was at a doctor's appointment. They gave him a cheque for the tub he promised to be delivered that weekend. There was no tub delivered and he immediately cashed the cheque so there was nothing she could do about it. I figure he has probably taken close to $500,000 from customers that do not have tubs and will probably not ever see one.
