I called experieince van lines as one of a half dozen I was researching to facilitate my move from Brooklyn to Manhattan. When I first read the email quaote sent to me by Kathy I thought that her writing was abrasive and deleted the email without further consideration. Subsequently she called me and was quite ameniable to my concerns and issues; talked about how us woman need to stick together nd that she would make sure that I was satisfied. (I now now why I cannot find a review on the company anywhere... I'm sure they are bad)
Anyway, after I allowed them to "win my move" they showed up an hour late with three guys, one of which was totally a newbee and obviously had not been in the business long. As a result the move dragged on. They dismantled furniture that only needed to be wrapped in an effort to drag out the time. The estimate they gave of 6 hours should have been plenty, but because they were dragging it out, it wind up taking up a lot more toime.in addition, they do not tell you that you have to pay the balance in cash (who has cash like that), that there was too much fraud in the business so the visa companies would not accept over a certain amount (what a crock of crap) It is just that they are a fraud. They told me they needed cash while I was at work to begin unloading. As a result, they now tack on another few hours while they wait for me to do nothing. An attemp to resolve this with the office was answered by "we always tell people they need cash at delivery (of course they do not because nobody would book with them) and then they get more hours becasue you spend aditional time running around to get cash to pay for the move or they keep ur stuff. They know you will pay for it because people with cheap furniture don't book and move themselves (what I will continue to do from now on).
Anyway, of course all of the nicities Kathy dispayed at booking were gone; when I called for assistaence they kept me on perpetual hold. Do Not Deal with these folks unless you want to be frustrated and dissapointed. They will rip you off as my move cost me 400 more than they quoted.
