NR & Associates
NR & Associates Magazine Scam

Shops, Products, Services

A few weeks ago I was making dinner and my fiance handed me the phone and said "its about your Cosmo subscription." I took the call and the guy explained that since I had been a customer of Cosmopolitan for a few years I was being offered their discounted customer rate to renew for 2 years. It was $50. I asked him when my subscription would expire and he told me that he didn't have an exact date but he could switch me to a manager that could let me know. I thought it was odd, but accepted and was put on the phone with a woman manager and the first guy I spoke with. I was told my final magazine would arrive next month. Both of them pushed really hard for me to use my credit card to pay for the subscription. I explained I was cooking and really didn't have time to stop and pull the card out of my wallet. So they confirmed my address to send me a bill and repeated that I needed to act really quickly to renew my subscription at this "awesome low rate".

A few days later I received the bill in the mail from Increase Publications. I have no idea why this caught my eye, but it did and I remembered that Cosmo magazine uses Hearst Publications. I also thought the $50 was a little high for a 2 year subscription and vaguely remembered on my last renewal that 2 year subscription was around $45. Then I realized they contacted me on my home phone, which is a brand new number and definitely not one that Cosmo would have on file.

I've received 3 bills in the mail from them, all requesting immediate payment. Finally, I googled them and found that Increase Publications does not come up but if you search enough there are references to NR & Associates. I just wanted to post this to make more people aware that this fraudulent company has changed their name.
