Ripped off but then accomodated

I was appalled to find out that my 20 year old college junior had somehow been convinced to take on a 26 month $49.90 monthly payment for 5 years of magazines. 3 out of 4 she would never read on her summer lifeguard income of $3000 a year. The $1297 total figure horrifying to a a girl who is taking out loans to pay for tuition and books. I had to ask to speak to a manager but I am very thankful that William was patient enough to hear me out and calm me down... Eventually agreeing to waive the $250 cancellation fee and only keep the $49.90 payment she had already made. I realize my daughter should have been more savvy and am very thankful for the waive. I did ask that perhaps they not target the naive 18-22 year old market where I am sure they get a ton of people who can't pay and then cause huge damage to these very young people's credit records...
