As economic conditions drastically worsened in the beginning of many former professionals found themselves unemployed and were forced to work in anything that claims to pay something, however small.intechra Logistcs Dallas/Carrollton repeatedely advertised on craig's list that they were looking for delivery drivers. The recruiter was Joe Gonzales - after scheduling an interview - he told drivers that they could average $150 day on average, $250 on good days, and close to $300 on really good days, and the worst on really slow days would be around $100. He repeatedly said "it all depends on how much you want to work, we have work for you".

As part of the contract, there's a clause in fine print that says that if drivers leave without giving 2 weeks notice, they will not be paid for 2 full days that they worked. Within the first few days, I understood perfectly why they put this clause. Contrary to Joe's claims, I was averaging after gas around $50/day - but quitting isn't an option, because you wouldn't get paid for days work! I spoke to several other couriers and without exception, everyone said they wanted to leave ASAP but they couldn't b/c of the 2-week notice clause. They were stuck!

In terms of the actual assignments - there was no rhyme or reason to the dispatching. I was often sent fron Mesquite to Ft. Worth and visa versa for a job that paid a few dollars. I spent countless hours sitting in parking lots waiting for my next trip (all unpaid). We were told that we had to work a weekend. I spent countless Sundays sitting in parking lots for hours on end. After an 8 hour day, I came home with $25!

Joe told us that we could always call and asked him to review our assignment and he could see about getting us "bumped up". Every single time I called him, he promised to call me back by the end of the day, but he never did! Drivers had to call him repeatedly in order to get him to respond and he rarely got a "pump up". I was sent to pick up a delivery at Love Field airport and deliver 50 miles south of Dallas in a rural area with unmarked dirt roads. After 3 hours of dispatch directing me down unpaved dirt roads, I finally made the delivery, but I was on my own getting back. That night, I got home at 2AM and was paid all of $20 for 5 hours of work - not counting gas. When I asked or a "bump up", Joe told me "sorry, that ain't gonna happen".

I wasn't about to be treated that way, so I started to ask how much jobs paid. There were a few very nice dispatchers who always told me - but within a couple days, I was tricked! I was sent an assignment on my phone that I was to report to Intechra Logistics to pick up a delivery. Upon arrival, I was pulled aside by a manager named "Scott Dean" and harrased about what I had asked the dispatchers. He was yelling at me in my face, asked me questions, and when I tried to answer, he abruptly cut me off and screamed "your attitude is what gets you in trouble". He's a former marine - I assume a drill sargent. At the end of his interrogation, I was told that Intechra no longer needed my services, and he escorted me to my car with 2 armed guards. With anger burning in his face, he told me "you will be compensated for your time!".

As I pulled out of the parking lot, I called a dispatcher who had always been nice to me - she had no idea about their trick - she gave me the number of Christy, the boss. When I asked how much I would be compensated, my calls went unreturned and I was hung up on and threatened with the police if I called anymore to ask about my final pay check. When my final check arrived in the mail, it was a couple hundred short!

Recently, Intechra's courier division was bought by Emilio Castillo of Houston and now uses the name "Time Line Logistics".

Stay FAR FAR away - anyone who gets involved - don't be scared, you don't have to take this abuse, there are courier companies out there that pay far more and actually keep their promises.
