Company makes false advertising of Jobs City

Shops, Products, Services

I would strongly advise anyone applying for security jobs to avoid the above referenced company. My fiancee applied for an "open position" with them, and was told on the phone by a Ms. Hernandez that she could come in for an interview. Ms. Hernandez said placement would most likely not be a problem since my finacee has her 16 hour course. Unfortunately, her application and resume clearly states she has only the 8-hour course. This is the point where I feel the bait and switch tactics come into play.

As my fiancee told her that she only has the 8 hour, Ms. Hernandez stated that she could still come in, but bring $80 and "we'll see what we can do". Despite numerous attempts, we were unable to get a straight answer as to what the $80 was for. I submit that Ms. Hernandez knew my fiancee didn't have the 16 hour as I stated, but used the prospect of "working with her" and told her if she didn't qualify she'd have her money refunded. Fortunately, as I am employed with one of the more reputable firms in NYC, my fiancee knew that something was a bit shady.

Ms. Hernandez also mentioned that my fiancee could get the fire guard certification from the NYFD as well. As anyone in security knows, the requirement for obtaining the FG certificate is a signed letter from one's employer vouching for his/her character and experience in security. The FG certificate will also state the holder's name, Company of employment and the address of employment. CP could NOT obtain this certificate for her as they do NOT employ people, only take money for inflated classes and then provide referrals to other companies. Further, Ms. Hernandez told my fiancee to bring her Social Security Card, her Birth Certificate and her 8-hour certificate and she would HOLD ON TO THEM until she passes the 16 hour class. This is a practice highly frowned upon by other firms. I'd advise anyone to do some research on this company before signing anything or handing over any money. No reputable staffing firm takes money from employees. I don't know if I can stress that enough. They make money from their clients. If they charge you, Walk away.
