Unethical Breeder Sells UN-Trained Puppies Formerly Somis, Now

Let me say first that I have the best dog on the planet. My family and I could not love her more. This is despite the fact that she came from Golden Meadows Retrievers.in my opinion, these breeders have no sincere interest in conducting business professionally or ethically; it follows that they don't have your best interest at heart when it comes to ensuring you are a truly satisfied customer. Never mind the fact that you pay $6000 for a puppy. For $3750 of that amount, your puppy is to be "potty trained, crate trained... And have basic obedience training". A steep price, but particularly to avoid the potty training - it was worth it to me. My mistake.

My puppy was not potty trained in the least. (I'll leave out the other issues as there isn't space enough here.) I called to address with Tim; ultimately, it was one year before she was housebroken. At that time, I wrote a letter to Tim and Barbie. They did not respond. After a month, I called to follow up. They claimed to have no idea who I was, did not know why I was calling, never acknowledged whether they read my letter (Barbie answered first then got Tim). Tim didn't say he was sorry for my trouble. No, rather, it was my fault the dog failed as "I am not a trainer, and he has over 18 years of professional training".

I was "inconsistent". I did not "use the crate" for whatever time frame. I told him he should be professional and courteous. He said how busy he and his family were, and he was going to try to relax now. He told me (sarcastically) to have a "wonderful day", to call my lawyer, who could talk to his lawyer. "There, now we're professional and courteous", he said. He repeated the wonderful day and lawyer part once or twice. And then, click. He hung up on me! Wow.

$6000 or not, I wouldn't want anyone to be treated like this. Not even a dog.

(Like the San Francisco writer's dog (see other posting) my dog had giardia for a long time. She also is a timid dog. When at the breeder's toward the end of training period, I did see Tim swat her rear when she peed. It wasn't encouraging.)
