Castlerock Security, SAI Security, APX
Fraudulent, Rip-off, Elder Abuse, They do not provide home security

Shops, Products, Services

My elderly parents, in their late 80's, had an APX alarm salesman come to their door in 2007. He convinced them to sign up for a home monitoring system. When it was installed, they put in motion detectors which terrified my mother because she was afraid of setting the alarm off at night. They have never turned the alarm system on. Two months ago, they began getting letters from first, SAI Security, and then Castlerock Security asking for a new credit card to handle their monthly payments. They were recently turned over to a collection agency. I contacted Castlerock and asked them to remove the alarm system and to stop bothering my parents. Since clearly they were not monitoring the system - no one ever contacted my parents, or myself as the designated next-of-kin to wonder why the system wasn't responding. They refused to stop billing and stated that my parents signed a three-year contract. I contend that this is elder abuse, taking advantage of elderly people who didn't understand what they were signing. I have since seen the long list of unhappy customers. This is a fraudulent company; clearly they keep changing the name to stay ahead of bad publicity. I am turning the whole mess over to my parent's attorney and he is filing a case with the DA here in California.
