Preditory Lenders AKA Dr Tappert Sold me frivolous documents

Karen Tappert sold us phony documents.initially, I was negotiating with the bank about mortgage remodification and looked on the internet for advice from a professional. We were not behind in my payments. We faxed all of our original mortgage papers to Karen upon her request. Karen claimed we had a case against the bank and told us to stop making our mortgage payments because I was a victim of predatory lending.

Karen Tappert advised us to let it go into foreclosure and so we would win in court and end up with a home without a mortgage and damages. So we waited, for months. We were told not to talk to the mortgage company. When we received each letter from the mortgage company Karen seems more excited as we continued to fax the paperwork to her.

When it came time to go to court for "foreclosure and sale", Karen gave us documents to file at the court and instructed us not to show up at the hearing. My wife Lori went to court anyway. Just to watch. But when she got there the mortgage company offered a better Mortgage remodification than we could have ever asked for (5.75%) and put off the hearing for us. When we called Karen Tappert, she was furious and told us not to accept and made it clear, by accepting any deal, would make us disqualify her paperwork.

She called me weak and said I needed to "be a man" for my family. We had given her a lot of money. Karen Tappert sent an ugly email to us and upset my wife as she left for court. Lori, my wife told the Judge that he could not ignore our paperwork, and she felt we were correct in our position. The Judge gave her 3 days in jail to think about what she was doing. (Filing phony documents, to prolong the foreclosure process) When I called Karen Tappert for help, she said that it was "our fault" that we should not have gone to court. Karen then wrote us a very ugly email and told us we paid for the papers and nothing more. What we did with the papers was our problem.

Those were worthless documents. We paid $750 and $750 for a total of $1,500. We have since talked to an attorney who said "I have no idea what these documents were suppose to have accomplished"

Now we have a foreclosure on our record and the Trustee gave us a check for $42,358.23, which is the amount left after they sold our home for a fraction of its current worth.

We lost about $60,000.00.

We were foolish to listen to Karen Tappert. We had 30% equity in our home and the bank really didn't want to take it. We were good for the payment. We let ourselves be swayed by Karen with claims of how we were victims of the predatory lending and we needed to stand up for all of us who have been victims.
