Big Planet Media (representative Rod Bowling)
Took payment from me for marketing services and never delivered the product

Big Planet Media provides a marketing service for businesses. Their job is to provide their client with a list of contacts to use. I went into business with their representative, Rod Bowling, in November. At that time I paid him $1000 and in return he was to supply me with a list of 100 contacts. He told me this would take just a few weeks time.

Several months go by and I have not heard anything from him. When I called him, he told me that he had emailed me the contact list a month ago but did some research and realized he had spelled my email address wrong and that is why I did not receive it. He assured me he would get to work finding a list of "fresh contacts" for me.

Several more months go by. All my attempts to contact Mr. Bowling are futile. He repeatedly ignored many emails I sent him and phone messages I left him.in fact, his phone number is now no longer in service.

At this point, I definitely have the feeling of being ripped off. I resorted to emailing every single contact I could find on his company's website, hoping that someone in the company was more ethical than him. Another representive did respond back, saying that Mr. Bowling is in fact one of their best representatives, that he has been extremely busy and assured me that he would be calling me in the next several days.

Another month goes by and I still haven't received this phone call. I emailed the other representative again, informing him of this fact. Two days later I did receive a call from Mr. Bowling. However, about 2 minutes into the conversation (before I could even get a word in) he said that his phone battery was about to die, that he was going to plug it in and call me back in just a few minutes. I never heard back from him. It has been 6 months since I paid for a service that should have been delivered in a few weeks time and I am unable to get into contact with anyone in the company.

I know for certain that I am not the only person they have done this to. I know another business owner in the area who had a nearly identical experience with Rod Bowling as myself. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau but they didn't respond to the complaint so nothing came of that.
