I bought a '99 Bayliner Trophy having a '00 150ELXPTO S-T Mercury from MacDonald Sea (Frankfort, MI) on 05-21-05. This vessel and engine were believed to possess between 30-40 hours use. That was the main reason I went 700 kilometers to buy the vessel and engine.
On or around 07-05-05, while operating the Mercury at approximately. 3,000 RPM I noticed what I believed was extreme motor sound. I close the motor along and consequently had it examined with a marine technician.
He discovered the Number 1 & Number 3 starboard cylinders were without manufacturer videos mounted about the piston pins and consequently were carrying lines within the piston-cylinder surfaces. I've connected an image for the research.
I've since had the motor fixed at my cost because of Mercuryis denial-of faulty construction.
