BEWARE - Vending machine purchase scam!

Shops, Products, Services

My husband and I were looking for a way to bring in additional income to pay off some of our debt. We found an artible in our local newspaper advertising a vending machine business.

We decided to contact the business and get information to see what it was all about. The supposed owner of the company Eivor Johannsen gave us this hyped up spew about how the business has been around for over 15 years and they have zero complaints from the BBB.

We check out the business further and had her fax over all of the information about the business. The paperwork clearly states that when you decide on the number of machines that would be purchased, you put down a 50% deposit, the locations would then be disclosed to you (double the amount of vending machines purchased) within 3-4 business days. This would allow you to see the locations, decide if you wanted it or not, report back to the company and when locations are contacted and arrangements made, the machines would be shipped off. The tracking numbers would be emailed and upon receipt the remainder of the money is due.

We put the 50% down, it took 3 business days to get 1 location after having to contact the business several times. We contacted the business and was told that they asked for a machine about 3-4 months ago and was told it would be received within 2 weeks. They thought the company was a scam. We confirmed the first location because that was the only one given and we were able to check it out. The company then seemed legit and we were promised that were would received other listed of locations the next day. This took place on April 21. After calls to the business every day and emails received from Nick, we were told he did not have any locations and would send the next day.

Here we are on Apil 28, my husband contacted the company advising that we still had not received another location when we should have received 4. After quite a bit of arguing back and forth, Nick finally emailed another location. When my husband contacted the location, we were told that it had not even been confirmed, the owner of the company had to give the ok for a vending machine.

I contacted the owner numerous more times and explained that they were in breach of the contract. We were promised 4 locations within 3-4 business days and only received 2 which weren't even definite and it took 10 business days. I finally said I no longer wanted any machines and wanted my money back as the paperwork states guaranteed locations given within 3-4 business days or money back.

When I told th owner I wanted my money back, she stated that was not an option. She advised me that the machine had already been shipped then proceeded to say that the machine cannot be shipped without receiving the remaining 50%. I have been fighting back and forth with this company as it has been 2 weeks already, no machines received yet and no guaranteed locations. The contract states that machines will be shipped within 25 days after selection has been made of locations given in 3-4 business day time frame.

The owner now states that she will no longer speak to me and will have her attorney contact my attorney. I am at my wit's end and do not want to give the remaining balance without a guaranteed product.

Something that my husband and I prayed about to get some extra money has turned into an absolute nightmare and cost us almost our entire savings.

We put our trust and faith into this company and have gotten nothing in return but pure lies. Please someone help! I don't know what else to do!!
