Don't get screwed!

Long story short. Deploying to Iraq. Gave my 30 day notice along with my deployment orders. Cleaned house very well. Everything in working order. Deployed to Iraq. Checked credit report. Casa Real estate is reporting a collection.

Call them to find out what is going on. They state that the door was damaged and that keys were never returned. Kept my security deposit and is charging extra for broken door, rekey, and other minor damages. Never received notice or any kind of communication from them on these matters until I check my credit report. No point in arguing for I would never win.

Now I have a negative item on my credit report for the next 7 years which does not reflect my actual credit worthiness. So I will be returning from Iraq and will have to put buying a home on hold until credit report either gets fixed or recovers from point loss.

You would think that a Real Estate Company in a military community would be understanding and help the soldiers out but that is not the case. They had my deployment orders and could of easily contacted someone in the unit to send me an email or notice of what was going on.instead, they take the easy route and just report a collection to credit report. I guess getting a hold of me is going above and beyond and Case Real Estate does not believe in that. To all soldiers in the Fort Hood area, I highly recommend you choose other Military friendly Real Estate companies. JWC is a friendly and good one I recommend! Stay away from Casa Real Estate!
