Imoral, unethical and exploitative!

My wife and I recently brought our cat into All creatures Animal Hospital. Our cat had always been very healthy and strong. However, for about a week he was off his food. It looked like he was in pain while eating, so we thought maybe he had a toothache and needed a cleaning, possibly and extraction.

Enter DR. Ahmed! He started by saying the cat would have to be hospitalized overnight, and blood, stool and urines tests done to make sure he was stabalized, also, he should be on an IV drip to make sure he is hydrated enough for sedation. I pointed out that he has a toothache as far as we know. Dr. Ahmed barely looked in his mouth, and my wife said it looks like he has an infection under his toungue, and that his tounge deviated to one side.

Dr. Ahmed completely ignored her and empasized the danger of sedation if the animals kidneys are not stabalized. She was in tears, as he went on to tell her how the cat also probably had worms, and fleas and needed to be treated for that in addition to full body x-rays! All this for a teeth cleaning!

DR. Ahmed left the room and one of his employees came in with a check list. I asked him point blank, how much all this would be. He seemed a little embarassed as he rattled off all these bullsh*t charges. I stopped him and told him that It didn't make sense, and that I was not going to pay the over one thousand dollars he was quoting!

After several trips out of the room to talk to the DR. He came back with some minor revisions. It felt like we were buying a second hand car and were being grinded by a sales man and his manager. It was an absolutely horrible, disgusting example of how low this so called Dr. Could go! I asked if we could take the cat home with some fluids and hydrate him the day before the cleaning.

After checking with the good doctor was told no we can't do that. I asked for the presciption for the antibiotics so I could save some money by getting it filled at costco, to offset some of the other costs, again after checking with the good doctor was told no because the doctor could only be certain that his antibiotics would be of a high enough standard!

It was all Bullsh*t! I am a Dr. Myself and although I am not a vet I have a much deeper and sophisticated knowlege of why and when, and what to test for. I just wanted to see how far he would go! I was shocked at the lack of diagnostic skill, compassion and ethics this doctor had.

We ended up getting out as fast as we could but it still cost us over $200, with no work done at all. Just a few shots and antibiotic, and Exam (what a joke)
We got out cat to anothe rvet the next day. He had a inoperable tumor in his throat which was clearly visible, diagnosed within a few minutes and confirmed upon further examination.

I am contacting the Vetinary board to file a complaint. Also, the better business bureau. I suggest anyone with a complaint such as the ones I have read do this. This guy is a greedy, ignorant and unethical human being who does not deserve the privilige of being called Doctor. Don"t let him near your animals!!!
