I hired a lawyer for my divorce. At first he acted great. Then my now ex husband got an emergency hearing for visitation. My lawyer didn't even contact me. Then he told me I didn't have to follow the order and we would take care of it in court. It was a civil matter and I wouldn't get in any trouble. Well i didn't follow it and got criminal charges brought against me for it and have to go to trial in august. He alos refused to represent me even thought it was his fault.

We finally got into court he was to ask for the usual things including 14000 in back support, my household things. My ex had nothing when we met i had it all. Change my name back to what it was before we got married. And supervised visits because i caught the ex in a hotel with a 15 year old little girl.

I tried several times before court to call and each time was told by his so called secretary that he was busy. Etc etc. Thus before the hearing i got to talk to him once and that is when i found out I was getting criminal charges broght on me. When we got into court he didn't even know who I was. He didn't have my file and had no clue what he was to do. He sat there and shook like he was scared to death. He didn't ask for anything. He didn't even file any papers for anything. I had stuff with me I had to enter into evidence. I didn't even get my last name back.

The court gave the ex my things. And when i can pay half to get my other things back then and only then will i get them. (BTW my ex was ordered to return them for 2 years proir to this hearing and was suppost to be held in contempt on 5 counts for not doing anything the court ordered.) Comes down to my lawyer did nothing I paid 700 bux for nothing I could have done better myself. I told him i wanted to go back in a redo hear this case or modify to get contempt cause he did nothing the first time. HE told me I had to pay him 500 more to go back. All this after I paid him once to do it and he didnt' then wants paid again for i'm sure not doing anything again.
