Advantage Promotions
Advantage Promotions interviews 2 @ a time, you must Sell before you get job! Who's ever heard of that? Dont waste your time!

Shops, Products, Services

I got the same EXACT EMAIL that someone else posted about Advantage Promotions and I did a google search and found consumer complaints before I called them. But I did call the name on my email, Ms. Linsey Beford. She asked if I wanted to set up and interview and I said well, as long as it is a one on one interview, yes that I would be interested. She said of course it was a face to face one on one interview.

And so I told her that I had done a little research on the company was concerned that it might be a presentation and that there would be a requirement of going out and selling before I would be considered for the job and she got quite rude with me after I said this. Her response was that they were expectant that candidates for the job should be excited about the job and not negative. I said if is a real job, yes of course I would be excited about it but she had to understand that my concerns of a valid job offer. I told her to google her company and consider my position.

Well, she said she was WELL AWARE OF consumer complaints AND THAT A COMPETITOR HAS BEEN SLANDERING THEM ON THAT SITE. She suggested that I call a man by the name of Larry O'Brian at 888-265-2338 and speak with him and then if I still wanted to interview to call her back and schedule an appointment.

So I call Mr. O'Brian and told him that Ms. Beford suggested I call him. He asked why and I said, I guess because she wasnt happy with some of the questions I was asking before I schedule an interview. I proceeded to tell him that I did not want to waste my time or theirs with a group presentation followed by a requirement to sell BEFORE I even was offered a contract for employment. He told me he understood and assured me that this was not the case. He then proceeded to tell me that the do their hiring in a way that NO ONE OUT THERE DOES. Basically he told me I would interview with one other person, "JUST TO SEE IF I COULD HANDLE THE PRESSURE" and then if I did well, they would send me out on a test run to see if I could handle going out to sell.

I told him that I was not the candidate he was looking for, thanked him and hung up. IF this is what you want to do to get a job, I guess go for it. As I do not know if there would ever be a job offer... But I am not willing to waste my time to find out. I have been in sales for 10 years with respectable companies and this has never been my experience. No contract - what a rip off. You can not represent a company with out a contract and what company would want to purchase from some "test drive candidate" of an employee?

Thanks to all who posted about this company... All i wasted was 15 minutes of time on the phone!!!
