I received an email from Lesa Lowery (ltopctw@blueongreen.com) from Ran-De-Vou Co. She stated that her company was in need of proofreaders to read and edit business correspondence received from their Clients. Her email went on to say:

"We represent United European Corporation which consists of the several
partner companies and has branches worldwide. You will be directly communicating with one of our branches located at St. Petersburg, Russia.

The pay for this position was $5.00 per 1Kb of text (the workload was about 4-5 Kb a day). It sounded to me to be on the up and up, so, therefore, I began to receive and edit text.in my second week of editing, I had earned $120 when I suddenly received an email which stated (word for word/un-edited):

"We are informing you that we should stop a "Text Editor" vacancy for a
Winter period. The reason is that we need employees to an other vacancy in
our company "Local Agent" for Autumn.

It's a good paid job and you can take a trial of 2 weeks. After this you may
continue working with it or you will return to your previous work with texts
editing in 2 months. It will be your choice.

Please see an attached file, where you will choose one of new vacancy
options..." The options were:

"1. You accept Wire/ACH Transfers ON your bank checking account. (Any bank checking account is acceptable for this vacancy) REQUIREMENTS: Bank name, Address of the Bank, Name on the account and the account number.
Every month you will get $1200 salary 5% commissions. You will get commissions immediately after cashing. Also you will get $120 from the 1st accepted payment. It takes 1-4 days to recieve a Wire/ACH Transfer.

2. You accept direct deposits on your bank checking account. (Any bank checking account is acceptable for this vacancy) REQUIREMENTS: Bank name, Address of the Bank, Name on the account and the account number.
Every month you will get $1800 salary 5% commissions. You will get commissions immediately after cashing. Also you will get $120 from the 1st accepted payment. It takes 4-5 days to recieve a Direct Deposit.

3.3 weeks Trial. You will work dureing 2 weeks. What do you have: You get $168 from the 1st accepted payment, and you will have 5% commissions from each payment you accept. REQUIREMENTS: Bank name, Address of the Bank, Name on the account and the account number. You will get %5 commissions immediately after cashing. Also you will get $120 from the 1st accepted payment.

Any bank checking account is acceptable, but should be a Checking account.

Prior to receiving this notice, I had already begun questioning in my own mind what type of service "the company" provided due to some of the correspondence that I had edited. Some letters dealt with making deposits, keeping 5%, and then forwarding the rest to the company. However, my first thought was that the company must be a mail order bride company because they always signed their letters "Dating Service" and they had referenced 3 websites in their initial email to me. Now, I just think it's some kind of money laundering scheme. Sure, I guess it also could be a scheme to somehow wipe out your bank account, but my mind's not criminally advanced enough to figure out how at this sitting.

All in all, this company is nothing but a scam. I contacted them regarding the money owed to me and, of course, I received no response. I also emailed the 3 websites that they named in their initial email to me to ask if indeed they were related to United European Corporation/Ran-De-Vou Co. Guess what? No response from any of those websites either. Then to add insult to injury, after days had passed with no reply from anyone, I received a new email from a Mildred Horn (felberbkeelin@tpclaw.com.sg) stating the following:
