Don't TRUST Shopping scam and check fraud

We received a letter today for Vasco Research Trust (aka VRT Inc) with a check for $3480. First instince is WOW, they're going to pay me to go out and shop with their money, keep the things I buy, and pay me $300 a month. One of the initial assignments for "training" requests that you go to Western Union or Money Gram for $2950 back to their office to "test" the service and rate the office where you complete the transaction.in the meantime, the check is a fraud, bounces at the bank, and you're out $2950 put check charges. Fortunately, I did a search on the web and found some blogs about this company. Here is what I found.

The phone number provided is a cell phone in Ontario, Canada. The individual answering states that it is a legitimate hired shopper service but is very vague about the particulars. The banks used (so far reported) are Regions Bank and Wells Fargo Bank Montana N.A. The locations to wire the money include Barbara Morris, NY; Vince Freeman, NY, and Betty Bunny, TX. Whether these are real people or aliases for one person, these people will get money that you are out of. The check looks very real but some have been able to detect a vague imprint of "void" in the microprint on the paper.

I am currently reporting them to our local Call For Action and the BBB as well as this website.
