Honey Creek Veterinary Hospital
Dr. Miller Harsh treatment of a man with a dying pet

Shops, Products, Services

I had no choice but to put my sick cat in the kennel due to a trip I was unable to cancel. He is slowly dying of kidney disease, and it broke my heart to do so. I brought him into the same hospital I had caring for him. He will not eat on his own and needs to be force fed. It turned out that the trip was cancelled and so I wanted my cat back home. I brought him in Saturday 17th and wanted to pick him up on Sunday 18th.

I started calling Honey Creek first thing Sunday morning - I only got a recording telling me to call another place. I did that many many times during the day and never received a call back. The other place I called told me that they talked to my doctor (Dr. Miller) several times and she will contact me. I received no phone call back from Honey Creek. Monday 19th I called to talk to Dr. Miller and she was too busy to speak with me. I went down to the Honey Creek to finally pick up my pet.

When I arrived I asked for Dr. Miller and I was told she was busy. I paid for the services and My cat was brought to me by a gentleman who said they knew I was trying to reach them on Sunday. He was very respectful and apologized emphatically for "dropping the ball" on Sunday. I accept his apology and was leaving when Dr. Miller finally decides to make an appearance. She walked straight up to me and said only this: "I know you were trying to get your cat yesterday but I work six days a week... Not seven, I don't live in this hospital, and I will not leave my family on a Sunday to come in and release a boarded cat. I will not apologize. Goodbye." she then proceeded to walk out. (my cat was not just a boarded cat, he is slowly dying and needs pecial treatment, you would think the doctor taking care of your pet would know that).

I tried to talk to her but she stated that she is not interested in anything I have to say. I started to take my cat home when I noticed one of the girls behind the counter looking directly at me laughing. I asked her if she thinks this whole thing is funny, she said: "I think your a joke." This is how they treat owners of a dying pet. This is the treatment I get before I even have a chance to speak. All I wanted was to get my pet home, and I get treated like a criminal. I hope this helps prevent this from ever happening again.
