Stay away from Oasis Moving and Storage!

We had a similar experience as the other posters here. Oasis sounds very professional at the beginning. They promise to beat any other price you are quoted if you send proof of your other estimates. Then they proceed to sell you on their service. Their employees all wear company uniforms and drive company vehicles. They promise a GUARANTEED flat rate. The lies go on and on.

The problem starts the day the "company" employees show up in street clothes with a rental truck, in our case a Budget rental truck, they showed up at our friend's house with a U-Haul truck.in both cases the trucks were too small to hold all of our belongings despite the fact we did an online inventory listing our belongings.

The "foreman" immediately tells you that your weight is over what your online inventory suggests and starts trying to convince you to sign all new paperwork. They begin to tape up all your belongings that you have spent months packing and preparing to move, in our case the bill for tape and packing materials was an additional $600! Our moving estimate was $6160, at the door the total cost of our move was $9572!

This is bait and switch at it's finest, they have you and they know it, what else are you going to do the day of your move?

As others have stated, they accept credit cards for all initial payments, but at the door they will only accept cash or postal money order.

When they arrived at our new home in Louisiana they did actually arrive in a company truck, however, the two "employees" were actually employees of an entirely different moving company out of San Antonio TX hired just for that day, just to unload our belongings! So much for company employees in company uniforms. We never saw any company uniforms.

Boxes upon boxes of broken items, glasses, vases, wine glasses, dishes, hand made custom pottery, tool box loaded upside down with broken drawers and the wheels broke off of it, desks and headboards beat up, dented and scratched, missing items... The list goes on and on. We knew there would be broken items, we had no idea how much it would be.

We referred our friends and filled out a "referral form" for up to $500 referral fee only to be told it would only be $200. Doesn't matter either way as we have yet to receive a referral check in any amount and are not holding our breath to receive one.

Moving across the country is one of the most stressful things you can do, to be taken advantage of while vulnerable is sickening! In our case we were moving due to the poor economy on the west coast, we used up every dime we had set aside to live in our new home the first couple of months, instead it was used just to move our furniture, we've had to borrow money just to survive and pay our bills since we've moved due to the lies, empty promises and empty guarantees provided by Oasis Moving and Storage.

Do your homework and stay away from Oasis Moving and Storage! There are companies that DO provide guaranteed estimates, make sure you use one of them and not a bait and switch company like Oasis Moving and Storage.
