Company rip off military customers

We moved ffrom California to Illinois. We went with Global Moving Services and American Van Services. Global picked our items up in their truck. Delivered them to a Mayflower truck the Mayflower truck moved our belonging to Morgan Storage and Morgan brought our items to us. Needless to say items were broken.
We filed the claim paperwork with American Van Services. We were told to take our camcorder and stereo to a repair shop and get them fixed and they would reimburse us for the cost. I talked to both Scott Lawrence and J. Timothy Shelley (part owner of the company according to Scott Lawrence so no problem right) Anyway this was in February. At that time we told them what the repairman said was wrong with our electric items. They said no problem get the estimates and sent the info to him. Did that to the cost of $50 for the written estimate.
Kept calling American Van Services and they kept saying claim being processed. Finally in May we receive a check for $200 and are told that they do not cover electronic damage. The envelope that our check came in was from Mayflower with A & A Transport on the front. According to the claim office for the military American is either bankrupt or bought out by Mayflower.
We filed a report with the Better Business Bureau, they get a letter from American stating that all Household Good Carriers have the same policy regarding mechanical malfunctions. That, if there is no evidence of mishandling or external damage they don't pay because they cannot assume the damage was done by them. They go on to state that the item was not properly manufactured and that is why it now doesn't work. The BBB responds that I have to fill out more forms for them to purse this further otherwise they close the file on this case. They are a joke too.
This was a military move and that is why I feel that we are being ripped off, since they know if they don't pay the only thing that we will receive is what the claim office decides.
