Deceptive Telemarketing Call ripoff deception

After our unsavory experience with Pavlos Angelatos and "World Wide Source" we get a call from someone representing these people. They claim we owe them (yep, you guessed it, $399.95) for a directory listing that we did not order or authorize in the first place. They also claim we have a multi-year contract with them and start to put the pressure on.

But wait! These people are far more gracious than Pavlos and his bunch. We can get out of our "contract" if we purchase their overpriced "Digital Trade Show Guide CD-Rom Companion for only $149.00 plus $15.00 shipping and handling.

We have our suspicions as to a connection with "World Wide Source." After all, the Attorney Generals of several states are putting the screws to Mr. Angelatos' original operation.By the way, "World Wide Source" now operates with this New York address:

Please instruct ALL people in your company who answer the phone to refuse to talk to these people. That way you will save yourself a lot of hassle. They can't provide a written, signed contract like your legitimate directories. You are under no obligation to a liar even if he does try to make you feel like you owe him something. If you get harassed by these "directory" people, your state Attorney General should be contacted. They know all about them.
