Nationwide Relocation Services
Third Party Fees a total SCAM!

Shops, Products, Services

My story goes like this...
I was planning to move from a while ago and so I decided to look for an INMEDIATE quote online. I entered my information in a website that was supposed to give my a price based upon the weight and the mileage I was traveling. I did not receive the quote, instead I received 5000 phone calls from so called different companies. U-haul, Nationwide Relocation, World and American Van Lines called me a billion times. Later I learned that all were the same companies part of the parent company Movingcost, trying to make me believe I was getting a quote from 4 different companies.

I hired one of the companies (Nationwide) even though I felt the price was a bit high, but they told me they had an A rating with the better business bureau which sounded pretty attractive. I want you to understand that the A rating goes to Nationwide for the brokerage services alone, if you research deeply you would learn that many of the companies that are subcontractors of Nationwide have an F rating, which means that the people that will actually move your stuff and take care of our beloved items are a big no-no.

When I learned this, I asked for my deposit to be refunded which I finally got back after they relentlessly tried to convince me otherwise with a load of lies and deceiving statements.

For example the first link is for nationwide relocation in the BBB website:
http://www.seflorida. BBB.org/BusinessReport. Aspx? CompanyID=27002063

The second one is for a company that move households for nationwide in california:
http://www.la. BBB.org/BusinessReport. Aspx? CompanyID=100038508

See the difference?

I did some research in the department of transportation website and I learned that these are not moving companies per se, but moving brokerage companies. Moving brokers mean that they subcontract the same moving companies (the ones that actually own the trucks) you could contact yourself. I point this out so you can understand that Movingcost and its moving brokerage companies (nationwide, u-haul, american van lines, world) make their money by charging a third party fee that ranges from a minimum 400 dollars the company requires to their estimators up to whatever the estimator feel can rip-off from you. Moving companies like Mayflower do not charge this, because they make their money out of the move itself not the third party fees.

So my final advice is for you to be aware. They are going to tell you to check if other companies are charging you on a basis of weight and mileage no cubic ft (good advice), but also look at the quote and check if they are charging you a third party fee, if they are. RUN!!! And fast! You are about to be ripped off. I have many more things to say, but I do not want you to keep you reading all they long. I just pointed out the most important facts.
