Easy to sign up, hard to cancel - no refunds-ridiculous low rates to haul freight

I signed up with directfreight.com on 12/30/08. There monthly rate is $25.00. They charged me $25.83, $25.00 for a month and. 83 cents for the last of December.

I am a truck driver and I was trying to find a load to get me out of the Atlanta, GA area. They do not post the freight rates, you have to call the brokers who are shipping the freight, which is not unusual. After making probably fifty calls to brokers regarding loads and how much they wanted to pay to move the freight I gave up. All the loads were maximum weight. The loads that were not maximum weight (as much as I could put on the trailer legally) would not even cover the cost of the fuel required to move them.

So now that I am totally discouraged with their website, I try to cancel. I was unable to contact anyone at their office number, and a web address that would allow you to cancel online (admin@directfreight.com) was non-existent. I called my credit card company to dispute the bill, but as yet the bill is still pending. Meaning that they haven't withdrawn any money from my account. However, while the credit card payment is pending, the credit card company can do nothing to dispute the charge.

It was foolish of me to sign up for this account without first checking them out. After I signed up I found out that there is no refund policy. So I am stuck with paying for a months fee for a totally worthless service.

The reason I am submitting this consumer complaints is in the hope that someone else may see this report before they jump on board with directfreight.com.

I am very disappointed, and will dispute the charge on my credit card. I don't mind paying the. 83 cents for the day I used their service, but I feel that I am being ripped off for the $25.00 that I put down in good faith, in order to access their web site.
