Took my money and ran

Scott Padgett said he would put 2 new closet doors in my house for $250.00. This amount included the doors and labor. He asked for a blank signed check so he could pick the doors up. His mother was a friend of mine and he just finished a job for me due to water damage. I kept asking him when he was coming over to put in the doors. I asked him if he cashed the check and he said he did. I asked him for how much, but he couldn't tell me at first but he finally came up with amount, $419.00. I asked him why he wrote it for that amount. He said it was for electrical, paint, and doors. I finally got my bank statement and found out he wrote it out for the amount of $485.76 and it was written out paid to his mother. The memo stated it was for doors, paint, and electric. It has been 10 months since the check was cashed, 2/27/08. He calls every so often to tell me he will be over, but never shows up, since he is so busy. Scott does good work, but he can't be trusted to finish a job. Only think you can trust him to do is take your money.
