We, too have had nightmare service from Cox after requesting high-speed internet, cable and telephone service. To begin with, services and charges were grossly misrepresented. For example, we were told we had 30 free days of premium channels that we were subsequently charged for, and ultimately were forced to pay for.

We were told we had free installation, which we were billed for. We have had problems with the installation, leading to interruption of service, and necessitating numerous service calls to correct the previous errors. Each time, we were given long explanations about the incompetence of the previous tech, and assurances that the corrections were not charged to our account.

Of course, these charges did show up on the bill, along with charges for other services not ordered, or received. Each time, customer service has been a hellish experience, with long waits, rude reps, mountains of misinformation, and even more billing errors each month. I am so discouraged and tired of fighting with this company every three weeks, I am ready to get rid of my TV, computer and phone.

If these practices are as widespread as it seems, doesn't it constitute consumer fraud? There must be some recourse.
