I received a yellow notice in the mail from Sweepstakes Clearinghouse regarding a special offer of an RCA 3CD home stereo system with full speakers for $37.50. Seeing that it was a very good deal, I sent two payments of $18.75 because I had an option to make two payments before they mailed it. When I finally got the package, I saw that it was a cheap Memorex portable stereo that was completely different from what I ordered. I called the company and told them I got something different from what was ordered. The customer service rep said that they would have to look up the original order and call me back in a few days; well I never heard from them, so I called back a week later and they said they hadn't looked up the order yet and for me to wait to hear from them. Well, it has been over 3 weeks and I still haven't heard from them. I can plainly see that this was a sneaky bait-and-switch tactic that they used for me to order this merchandise. I was going to send it back to get my money back because of the 30-day return policy, but they told me not to because of the shipping costs and to wait for them to look up the original order. Now, it's past the 30 day period, so of course I can't get my money back. They are still sending me more offers in the mail, but I of course haven't ordered anything. I have learned my lesson that if it seems to good to be true, that it is, and this company has deceptive sales tactics.
