They'll charge your account even after you cancelled your membership!

On August 15, my wife and I faxed a notice of cancellation to ABC Financial Services regarding her account. It was understood that this was our 60-day notice. However, on November 2, a charge was put through for $49.99, which caused our account to overdraft (as we don't keep too much money in that particular account). We were planning on closing the account, but hadn't gotten around to it yet.

We had purchased something for a small amount of money that would have gone through properly, had their unsubstantiated charge not been put through at the same time. Thus, it caused our account to overdraft twice. We requested that ABC refund us the $64.00 (two OD charges) associated with this issue. Their reply was that my wife had more than one account number associated with her account. This is not our fault, as we called Lady of America (who employs ABC Financial Services to perform the monthly billing) gave us this information when we called to cancel.

We specifically called Lady of America back in August to cancel, and they directed us to call ABC Financial Services. We, in turn, asked for any and all account numbers associated with my wife's account, and this is the only number they provided us with. If anyone is at fault here, it's Lady of America. But since ABC is the one who placed the unsubstantiated charge through our account and caused two overdrafts, they should be complying with our requests for a refund. We reported them to the Better Business Bureau and ABC didn't even propose a resolution.
