Big Sur Weddings Diane Allen ripoff outlandish ripoff late fees dishonest ripoffs

After having been recommended to this company, my wife (then fiancee) started talking to Big Sur Weddings regarding our wedding. They stated we would require about 5-7 hours for the whole thing. She had us pay an up front fee, and told us that would cover almost everything.

WOW! Four days before the wedding she, Diane the owner, finally gave us an accounting update (which she was supposed to do weekly) and our bill had multiplied 7 times! So, for example and ease of use, from $200 to $1400. We told her right from the beginning we were on a limited budget. She came back with charges such as her receiving a fax - $5. What the hell, all she had to do was pick it up. Her fax sucks, so she would have to re-fax things, she would charge us for that. Receiving an email - $5. Phone calls we made to her, to make sure she was ok cause her family member was sick, and we were charged by the minute. Emails from her not so intelligent employees - $5. Crazy! She charged just like a lawyer, or how a bad lawyer would charge.

Her final estimate was including her assitants to come out and be at our wedding for 6.5 hours, costing me hundreds of dollars, and they would literally be doing nothing.

She wanted to come to our wedding dinner and help, but the restaurant took care of everything.

Big Sur Weddings (Elegant Events) were dishonest and sneeky, we don't understand why they never told us their billing structure or ever gave us accounting reports, but it was a damn shame that she put such a sour taste in our mouths right before such an important day.

I highly suggest not using them.
