Poor Winterizing Mundelein Illinois

Two years ago I had Ahlstrand Marine winterize my Merc IO as I just had surgery and could not lay on my chest. The next spring I thought I better check out the engine. I found prior to starting the engine, the engine oil was a quart low, The flame arrestor was loose and had not been cleaned, most fittings had not been greased and the oil filter had been put on so tight, I can not get it off. The most serious of problrms, was I started the engine and the carb gas filter had not been tightend down and was squirting gas all over the engine.
Thank god I had the cover off. This year I will be looking for a new service as the IO is looseing a small amount gear lube, Unable to locate the source.

Total cost for this winterize and misery was $400 I have dealt with company for a long time and see all new faces in there, They won, t see my smiling face anymore.
