Dishonest crooks ripped off and scammed $221.95 from my bank account

In November, I received a call from Edward with Freedom Resources who told me about a credit card program they were offering. I listened to him as he explained that I would be receiving a Master Card or Visa with a guaranteed credit limit of $2,500.

When I was told how much the program was going to cost, I declined the offer. Then Edward proceeded to tell me that although I might not have the funds available now, I could give him the account information and he would post-date the debit for a later date.

I asked if it would be possible for me to take his number and call him when I was more prepared to part with the $221.95 processing fee. He told me that this was a "limited time offer" and that it would be expiring soon, but if I went ahead and post-dated a transaction, it would reserve my credit card with no interest until the transaction posted.

I reluctantly agreed.

The transaction was scheduled to post on December 6. I was also informed that the credit card package would be sent to me via UPS approximately 3 weeks after the transaction posted.

When the package didn't arrive as scheduled, I began to become concerned. I (like so many others, I discovered) looked the company up on the internet only to find a consumer complaints on them. I have called all the different telephone numbers that have been listed by so many other people who have reported this company. I finally spoke with a real person instead of a recording who told me that I would have to complete the form for a refund. She agreed to fax this form to my location, and I was truly amazed that I received it a few minutes later.

I am going to my bank this afternoon to close my account. I have also scheduled an appointment with an attorney to discuss the potential for a lawsuit against Freedom Resourses, aka Lenox Capital.

I sincerely thank all the rest of you for your reports and the ideas for trying to get everyone's money back.
