Us credit find - idl telecommunications idl strikes again with sneaky scam charges

It pays to check your monthly statements closely to quickly address any unauthorized charges to your accounts.

My husband noticed that our telephone bill had increased in the last 2 months, so before he paid the bill we decided to investigate. We pulled the bill up online, printed it and went over it with a fine tooth comb.

I found two charges (one for 7/3/08 and one for 8/1/08) in the amount of $9.99 each, which were "Billed on behalf of US Credit Find, Inc" as a "credit repair service monthly fee." I never heard of this company!

I called my telephone company and disputed the bill. They said they would remove the charges from my bill, but that I would have to call the company and stop them from making this charge to my phone account.

I called the 800 # that was on my phone bill as their contact number, and I actually got a live person on the other end. (He tried to sound professional, but the background sounds were anything but professional; people laughing and taking in the background; television sounds.)

He said that the company was a reputable one that provided valuable credit repair services. He never said we authorized the charges, but said he could only give us credit for one month (the first charge was 6/20/08) since their name was "recognizable" to us. (What kinda CRAP is that?)

Anyway, both my husband and I blasted at him with both barrels, telling him that we did not authorize the charges, and that we demanded credit and no further charges.

He said he would have to get a supervisor to authorize the credits, but never left the line to get one. He then said we would be credited for the July and August '08 charges. (We'll see.)

This is obviously a person, or group of people, who sit on their cans and think up ways to make an easy living at the expense of the unsuspecting average working consumer. We must be more proactive about protecting ourselves from these slimy predators.
