Verizon Mobile Telesys, Inc. Cell Phone opportunistic liars poor way to do business

While staying in Palm Springs, California I was approached in a shopping center by an individual working a booth with a large Verizon sign. Since I already had Verizon phones and live in Colorado, not California, I told him those two facts. He told me he could give me a better deal and that as soon as I returned to Colorado I could call and have my new phone numbers and service changed to Colorado.

When I returned to Colorado and made the call, however, I was told that I had to wait thirty days to change phone numbers over to Colorado and that I would still have California service, even though I live in Colorado.

The Verizon representative in California was neither understanding nor helpful. The Colorado Verizon representative gave me the customer service number for Mobile Telesys, Inc. Who was representing Verizon at the booth.

The representative at Mobile Telesys, Inc. Told me I'd have to ship the phones back to him AT MY EXPENSE and that upon receipt of the phones I'd be credited for phone service and the cost of the phones and adapters. Shipping is expensive since there are four never used phones, four car adapters and shipping will require insurance and a return receipt showing that the phones have been received.

In a second call to Mobile Telesys, Inc. I told their representative that my husband would be in California for business and asked if he could return the phones to a store close to where he would be. They were unwilling and still require that I pay to have the phones shipped at my expense to them.

It's a poor way to do business, and it makes Verizon and Mobile Telesys, Inc. Look like opportunistic liars and exploiters to me.
