Alltel Refuses to End Contracts Little Rock, Arkansas

Alltel ended my two year contract in December. I had two lines on that contract and the other line was still operational. That other line was the cell phone of my retired mother and the bill went to my mother after November.

Little background of my mother: She is retired on a meger Social Security payment and she has suffered two strokes.

My mother calls me in February and lets me know that Alltel is charging her the full amount. I call Alltel and tell them that I will not pay that amount because my phone is not on the contract anymore. Alltel tells me that I am month-to-month on my CANCELLED phone and I should have known that.

February I get Alltel to take off $130 and Alltel says this leaves $170.30 due. I say $0 is due for the cancelled phone. We disagree.

July I apply for a car loan and get denied. Alltel has turned me over to collections. I call Alltel July, 19, pay $170.30, cancel my Mother's phone and request a confirmation letter. Alltel tells me they will send a confirmation letter.

August 8 and no confirmation letter. I call Alltel supervisor and am told I owe $12. I get Alltel to take this off and AGAIN request an email and letter. Alltel says they will send both. I call another supervisor (can't ever get the same person) and she tells me Alltel cannot send emails and will send confirmation letter, then hangs up. I call third supervisor to ensure this information and I learn that confirmation will be sent on the second of every month.

BUT WAIT, no, that's wrong because the address they have is wrong. She changes the address and tells me that the address will officially change in 30 days. Ergo, I will get a $0 balance due letter on the second of October. Then this person hangs up. I call a fourth supervisor and he tells me that yes, I will get the confirmation letter and if I need more immediate confirmation (for instance, a loan officer staring me down and no proof I've paid my outstanding balance.) that I should have this person call Alltel. Then he hangs up.

If you value your intrinsic human worth and dignity, if you appreciate decent credit, if you have a deisre to be respected as a customer, RUN LIKE HELL FROM ALLTEL!
