Magazine subscription scam

I received a notice in the mail saying my account was past due so I called the numer on the statement notice. I was told I subscribed to the magazive for 5 years at $19.99 per month for 5 years begining in January. Knowing fully well I did not do this, I was concerned that someone else had subscribed to them using my name. Thinking they also will be interested in getting to the bottom of this I told them I will be willing to pay what ever was due and close the account but wanted them to know that I was not the one who subscribed. I got a sense the lady (Sharon) was more interested in getting my credit card details than figuring out who actually made the subscription. I was out of the country in January so could not have been me.

I asked how much and she said I owed $550 and she will be willing to let me off if I paid $275 over the phone otherwise they will send my name off to collection agency. I wa spuzzled $275 for 8 months of Magazines. I asked wht company or magazines they represent she became upset and very vague. Iasked her what the full name C.R.C. Stood for and she was unable to answer, became very hsotile saying well if Ido not pay up I will be sent to reporting agency and it will go on my credit report.

I asked if they were registered with the BBB, she said yes, well while she was on the phone I checked and found that to be a lie. I googled them and found your website with complaints about the same company!
